👩🏻💼 Business Thought!
Last month I talked about creativity and ways to stay motivated and true to yourself! This month I would like to discuss something a little more dangerous that affects all of us creatives, imposter syndrome.
When starting out on your creative business adventures, it can be really easy to feel like you are not deserving of success. We often spend a lot of time comparing ourselves and our work to other creators we perceive as successful and who we admire.
This can be inspiring, but it can also lead to not feeling like our work is good enough, or that we don’t deserve the same success. You might find you feel anxious when discussing your own work, or when receiving compliments about your creations.
You may doubt whether the compliments are genuine because you don’t feel like you are as good as others in your field. This is upsetting, but also completely normal to feel. When I say normal, I don’t mean it is correct, I just mean that we all go through this at some stage in our journey.
It is important to recognize and celebrate your victories, and to accept them as the hard earned fruits of your labour. Look at other artists for inspiration, but don’t compare your journey to theirs, because you are completely unique, and so is your work.
You are not an imposter, you are wholly yourself and any success you achieve, you will have earned it through hard work and determination. If it wasn’t deserved it wouldn’t be given, so celebrate yourself and your work and don’t let these types of anxieties hold you back from being the best you can in your career! ❤️

🧽 Pottery Tools I Love!
This isn’t so much a tool, as it is a material, but I am going to mention it anyway! I am in LOVE with red clay. There is something so beautiful about the contrast between the deep warm body of the clay and the vibrant glazes that interact with it. If you have tried different coloured clays before, you will know the same glaze will react completely differently depending on what clay body it is on. Well, red clay is by far my favourite clay body. My glazes just seem so much more rich and juicy on a beautiful red and I can not get enough of it! If you haven’t tried red clay, I highly recommend it! Heres my favourite from Tuckers Pottery Supplies! And check out this glaze, textured turquoise. The test tile image is the glaze on white clay, but check out how it looks on my red clay mug! GORGEOUS!

📷 Pottery Pic of the Month!
The results of my crazy glaze experiment!! What an interesting and beautiful result! It reminds me of a galaxy. I’m just so glad it didn’t come out brown, which was a more than likely result to get from mixing so many different glaze chips in one jar. I can’t wait to make some nice big vases to test it on further!

Thats all for the month! Thank you all for subscribing and being a part of my pottery journey! Stay tuned for the next email update coming in May and keep an eye on my instagram for my mug giveaway!! ❤️
Love,
