👩🏻‍💼 Business Thought! 

Last month I talked about branding your business, from logos to websites and even packaging. This month I would like to talk about your motivation.

Staying motivated is so important when it comes to running your own business. No one is there to tell you you need to get out of bed and work. It takes a lot of self discipline to make a business thrive.

Start each morning by making your bed. Setting small tasks like this will get you in the mindset of productivity. Every little victory in the morning will lead to a more productive business day!

Once you have made your bed, had your coffee and breakfast, take a seat and work on your socials. I find the best time to whip up a few posts on all of my channels is before I leave the house and become distracted by life.

Break up your day into categories. In my case, I spend the morning working on marketing and socials, the afternoon creating or teaching at my studio, and the evening working on website updates and blog posts. When you separate your day into categories, everything becomes less daunting and easier to accomplish.

Start small and finish your day with a bang! And don’t forget to take breaks and recharge! ❤️

🧽 Pottery Tools I Love!

I have to admit, i’m not the fastest at pulling handles. I love the look of a pulled handle, but when i’m sitting down to make 50 mugs, I start to dread the handle making process. I have since switched to this amazing tool called an extruder! With different die shapes, you can make many handles fast and efficiently. 📷 Pottery Pic of the Month!

Pots in the greenware stage! It’s tough getting used to the colour shifts of underglaze, but I always remind myself that everything gets darker after firing. So ease off on the darks and really work in those highlights to make sure everything pops in the end!
